Power down the device – The best way to avoid any problems during cleaning is to power down the computer or laptop. As an extra precaution, it’s also best to unplug the device before cleaning.
Clean the case – The case of a laptop or computer is the outer shell that encases the screen and processor. To clean the case, simply use a cloth dampened with water or a household cleaner.
Wash the screen – Over time, the screen can get dirty and stained. In order to clean the screen, use a lint-free cloth or microfiber towel moistened a little water. Ring out all of the water and rub the screen gently with the damp cloth.
Clean the keys – This can be the toughest part of the cleaning process. But, some basic cleaning tools and household items can make it simple. For computers that have keys with large, deep spaces in between them, the first step is to blow out the dust. This can be done using a computer cleaning tool that is available at most electronics stores. Damp Q-tips can then be used to clean around the keys.
