Healing from an Ear Infection at Our Apartments for Rent in Mount Dora, FL

Ear infections are extremely common and can affect anybody. They can occur due to allergies, colds, sinus infections, and swollen adenoids, among other causes. For many people, an ear infection will clear up within days, but they can be very painful in the meantime.

While anyone who believes they have an ear infection should seek medical care as soon as possible, here are three home remedies that some experts recommend for helping to relieve the pain and pressure of an ear infection:

Using salt The first step in this home remedy is to heat up one cup of salt in the microwave, and then carefully pour the salt into a thick sock. Then, tie off the open end of the sock, and let the salt cool down until it is bearably hot. Next, lie down and put the sock on the affected ear for 5-10 minutes.

Using apple cider vinegar The first step is to mix together one part apple cider vinegar with one part salt. Then, soak a cotton ball in the solution and put the cotton ball in the affected ear, like a plug. After 5 minutes, remove the cotton ball and lie down sideways to drain any liquid from the ear.

Applying heat One easy home remedy is to simply apply heat to the ear to relieve the pain. This can be accomplished by using a warm water bottle, heating pad, or warm compress. Those who attempt this should be sure to not apply the heat for longer than five minutes.

Once again, it bears repeating that if a person believes he or she is suffering from an ear infection, it is a good idea to see a doctor to receive a diagnosis and further treatment.
